No one purposefully forgets a great announcement they have for their friends and family. Sometimes, though, announcements are postponed. First, you put it off for a short time. Then, life gets in the way, and the news is postponed once again. And again. Suddenly, a whole year has hurtled past so fast, you feel you have whiplash, trying to keep up.
So, would you like to hear my good news, all the while knowing it is almost a whole year late? You would? Phew!
Last year, my crime short story Killing Crows won the 2025 Sisters In Crime Scarlet Stiletto Award in the category of Most Satisfying Retribution.
If this sounds familiar, it could be because my short story Capeweed won the same category in 2024. I know! Exciting, right?
Entry to the 2026 Scarlet Stiletto Awards is now closed. This year I’ve submitted two stories. They’re both somewhere in Melbourne, now, at the fingertips of the wonderful Sisters In Crime organisers and judges. Hats off to these women who champion Australia women crime writers and give us a platform to be seen and read.
If you would like to find out what I’ve been keeping from you for a whole year, you can read Killing Crows here.
Enjoy!
